I know where a beige one is; sitting atop a hill by a lake in a euro yard and it still has the spare tire on the gate and no rust. Right next to an Eagle wagon but the Ram Raider is in much better shape.

We’re talking the center diff, or an aftermarket fitted one? I’m not aware of Disco IIs coming with lockers in the axles, though since it’s a version of the same pumpkin as the RRC, the Series, and a bunch of Defenders, it’s not uncommon to see one. If we’re talking an axle one, is it an air locker?

Center diff. Shifter will move forwards or back between high, n, and low, but will not budge leftwards into the locked position. I’m imagining that the linkage is siezed from never having been used.

Apparently they stick quite often. Stealing this picture from a forum, you may need to put a socket or wrench on the lever retaining nut and knock it loose:
